Quick Answer
Check your connection type, microphone permissions, mute settings, and selected input device. Music may play normally even when your app is using a different microphone.
1. Identify Your Connection
Check whether you are using:
- Bluetooth
- A wired connection
- A gaming cable or microphone accessory
Microphone availability depends on your connection and accessory setup. See:
2. Check Permissions and Mute Settings
- Allow your calling app or game to access the microphone.
- Check that the microphone is not muted in the app or game.
- If your accessory has a mute control, check that it is not enabled.
3. Check the Input Device
Open your calling app or game’s audio settings and select the microphone you intend to use.
On a computer, also check the system’s sound-input settings. The speaker or headphone output and microphone input may be selected separately.
4. Test Another App or Device
Try a voice recording or a call in another app. If possible, test another compatible device.
Note whether:
- The microphone fails in every app or only one
- Music works but call audio does not
- Other people hear silence, muffled audio, or intermittent sound
If Bluetooth also disconnects, follow Why Won’t My H1H Headphones Connect or Stay Connected?.
